E-liquid

The liquid that gets vaporized. E-liquid contains 3 main ingredients; Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerin (VG), and Flavoring. It can also contain nicotine.

Atomizer

The enclosed reservoir that holds the liquid. It consists of a tank section and it also houses the coil head which is responsible for the vaporizing of the e-liquid. It comes in different shapes and sizes

Device

It consists of a metal case, a battery, and an electronic circuit system that controls many functions regarding its operation

Coil head

Is the heating element that heats the e-liquid, converting it from liquid into vapor to be inhaled. Coils are usually made from a metal wire and cotton wick enclosed in a metal case. The coil is enclosed in the base of the tank to allow the wick to absorb the e-liquid.

Battery

The power source for the device. Batteries come in many shapes, sizes and capacities. All batteries are rechargeable, and most are built into a case and can be recharged via a USB cable in a similar fashion to a smart phone. There are some more devices in which the battery can be removed from the case and charged in an external charger.

Joseph Robinson files a patent of the first device that resembles a modern e-cigarette.
Joseph Robinson’s patent gets granted, but it was never commercialized.
Herbert A. Gilbert files his own patent in the state of Pennsylvania. It gets granted and publicly available by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Tips for new vapers

For better performance of your e-cig press the power button 1 to 2 seconds before you start inhaling.
Be careful not to over tighten the various components of your e-cig. The same applies for your charging gear.
To get the most out of your e-cig try to inhale with less force for a duration of at least 3 seconds.

E-cig troubleshooting guide

Always adjust your settings in Watts within the safe operating range of the coil you use.
Check that your coil head is in good condition and replace it frequently for a better tasting experience.
Clean your drip tip frequently during the day, and your e-cig components each time you change your coil head.

Charge - maintainance for devices/batteries

Charging the device should always be under your supervision.
The wall adapter’s current output must not exceed the maximum current input of the device, as indicated in the user manual of each device.
At the end of the charging process, you should immediately disconnect the device and the wall adapter from the power supply.
